Load Securement System
        Developed Through Teamwork

Portec Rail's Shipping Systems Division (SSD) has teamed with customer and railcar manufacturer Trinity Rail Group (TRG), to develop a Load Securement System (WinChock^TM Securement System) for Trinity's Articulated Uni-Level (AUL) and TTX single Uni-Level railcars. These fully enclosed AUL railcars are designed to carry heavy-duty Class 8 highway tractors, fire engines, school buses, and top-of-the-line farm tractors as well as other vehicles of this type. Traditionally, these very large vehicles have been transported from assembly plants to sales distribution sites and end-user facilities via the nations' highways. It is Trinity's intent to build AUL/UL railcars with the patented WinChock^TM Securement System to capture some of this business and put it on the nation's railway network. Shipping Systems Division has designed the vital securement system to accommodate a variety of these diverse vehicles. The WinChock^TM Securement System has received conditional approval from the Association of American Railroad's Specially Equipped Freight Car Committee.
