Traction Gel (Sandite) Application System- Leaf fall remediation
This system does not apply lubricants to the gauge face but rather a traction gel to the head of the rail to increase traction for braking and acceleration. It is designed specifically for situations where leaf fall gathers on the railhead and interferes with wheel/rail adhesion. It utilizes an electrically powered peristaltic pump and features the same control system and wheel detector found on the PROTECTOR IV® -Trackside™ Friction Management System. The Traction Gel Application System is ideal for installation prior to passenger stations, grade and other areas where the effect of fall leaves have the most detrimental impact.
